23 Things 2.0 – RSS Feeds

During the day, you visit blogs, news sources, and other websites that deliver information regularly. It can be time-consuming to visit those sites.

With an RSS Feed and a Bloglines account (article in November Jag Stacks), you can keep up with those sites in one spot. Begin by visiting your favorite sites and look for the RSS symbol (orange).

RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication; it provides a format for you to add a site into your Bloglines account.

Example: Education Week

Look for an RSS Symbol on the site.

Once you see the symbol, click on it to reveal the process of adding to your Bloglines account.

Follow the directions – each site has a different way of adding the feed into the Bloglines account.

For Education Week, you click on the Bloglines button & it will add to your created Bloglines account.

Online Databases and RSS Feeds

EbscoHost has added an RSS option for any search or journal. Using an RSS feed reader allows you to be alerted when new articles on the topics you’re interested in are available. When you are alerted of new EBSCOhost Search or Journal Alert results, you can click on a link that will take you directly to them.
